What Our CCTV Installation Service Includes

Our CCTV service covers everything from choosing the right camera positions to full installation, configuration, and handover.

HD CCTV Camera Installation — Supply and fitting of high-definition cameras suited to your property — front door, driveway, garden, outbuildings, or full perimeter coverage. Camera positions are planned to eliminate blind spots.

Indoor & Outdoor CCTV Systems — We install systems for both interior and exterior use. Whether you need visible deterrent cameras outside or discreet internal coverage, we’ll advise on the right equipment.

Mobile App & Remote Viewing Setup — Your CCTV footage can be accessed from your smartphone or tablet from anywhere in the world. We set up remote viewing as standard and make sure you’re comfortable using it before we leave.

CCTV for Homes & Residential Properties — Tailored systems for houses, flats, and apartments across Yorkshire, sized and specified to suit the property.

Ongoing Maintenance & Support — If your system develops a fault or needs adjusting after installation, we’re available to help. Annual servicing is also available to keep cameras and recording equipment in full working order.

Why Choose GC Electronics for Your CCTV Installation

Fixed fees. Agreed before any work starts — every CCTV installation quote is fixed. There are no day rates, no surprise charges for extra cable runs, and no inflated call-out fees. The figure on your quote is the figure on your invoice.

Remote viewing configured as standard. Most CCTV installers will fit the cameras and leave you to work out the rest. We configure your mobile app access before we go, so you can check your cameras from your phone the same day we install.

25+ years of security installation experience across Yorkshire. We’ve installed CCTV in terraced houses, detached homes, farms, and larger rural properties across Leeds, Harrogate, Bradford, York, Doncaster, and Hull. Every property is different, and we’ve seen most configurations.

You speak directly to the engineer. When you call GC Electronics, you speak with a local engineer — the person who will design, install, and service your system. There are no salespeople, no subcontractors, and no surprises.

Support after installation. If something isn’t working as it should, you’re not left waiting for a callback during office hours. Emergency support is available around the clock across Yorkshire.

How Our Home Alarm Installation Process Works

Step 1 - Speak to a Local Expert

Call or email us to discuss what you’re looking to achieve. We’ll ask about your property, your concerns, and what areas you want covered. This initial conversation helps us plan an efficient site visit.

Step 2 - In-Person Assessment & Quote

A local engineer will visit your property to walk the site, identify the best camera positions to eliminate blind spots, recommend the right equipment, and provide a written fixed-price quote. There’s no charge for the assessment and no obligation to proceed.

Step 3 - Installation Booked & Completed

Once you’re happy to go ahead, we’ll book your installation at a time that suits you. We work neatly and efficiently, minimising disruption to your home. Most domestic CCTV installations are completed within a single visit.

Step 4 - System Configured & Tested

Before we leave, we test every camera, verify the recording setup, and configure remote access on your smartphone or tablet. We walk you through exactly how to use the system confidently.

Step 5 - Aftercare Included

If anything isn’t working correctly after installation, contact us and we’ll return to fix it at no additional charge. We’re not done until everything is exactly right.

Step 6 - Annual Inspection & Maintenance Available

We recommend an annual check of your CCTV system to clean lenses, verify recording quality, and update any software where needed.

CCTV Installation Costs — What to Expect

We offer free, no-obligation assessments for all CCTV installations, and every quote is fixed before work begins. You won’t be charged more than agreed — no matter what the installation involves.

The cost of a CCTV system depends on factors including the number of cameras required, the size and layout of your property, the type of recording equipment recommended, and whether cable runs are straightforward or require additional work. Rather than provide a one-size figure that doesn’t reflect your property, we quote properly after a site visit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is CCTV worth having at a residential property?

For most homeowners, yes — a visible CCTV system is one of the most effective deterrents available. Potential intruders make quick assessments about the ease and risk of targeting a property. Cameras on display — particularly at entry points and driveways — significantly raise the perceived risk and tend to move would-be intruders on. Beyond deterrence, recorded footage is valuable to police in the event of an incident. Many of our Yorkshire customers find additional peace of mind in being able to check on their property remotely when they’re away.

Can I view my CCTV footage on my phone?

Yes. All of the systems we install support remote viewing via a smartphone app, and we configure this as part of every installation. Before we leave, we walk you through the app on your own phone so you can access live and recorded footage from anywhere. If you have any difficulty with this after we’ve left, call us and we’ll talk you through it.

How disruptive is a CCTV installation?

For most domestic properties, the disruption is minimal. Cable runs are planned to be as unobtrusive as possible, and most installations are completed in a single visit of a few hours. We work tidily and leave your home as we found it. The exact timescale depends on property size and the number of cameras being installed, which we’ll confirm at the quote stage.

Do you service and maintain alarm systems you haven't installed?

In many cases, yes. If you've moved into a property with an existing alarm system, or had a system installed by a previous provider, contact us and we'll assess whether we're able to take it on for servicing and maintenance. Annual servicing is something we'd always recommend — it's the most reliable way to ensure your system works when it matters.

Will CCTV affect my home insurance?

Many home insurers look favourably on professionally installed security systems, including CCTV, and some offer premium reductions for properties with documented security measures in place. It’s worth checking with your insurer directly, as policies vary. We’re happy to provide documentation of the installation if your insurer requires it.

Do you install CCTV alongside alarm systems?

Yes — and many of our Yorkshire customers choose to have both. An alarm system and CCTV complement each other well: the alarm responds to intrusion while CCTV records it. We can install both systems on the same visit or at separate times, depending on what suits you.
